JBAndrews Summer Update

We’ve been extremely busy as of late which is why the regular updates and blogs have slowed down. However, as we come towards the end of summer we thought a JBA update was in order…

The main business update in the JBAndrews office is that we’ve been working on a substantial expansion which will now see us not only specialise in the Logistics & Supply Chain market, but also Industrial, and Finance markets. After a very successful first year we felt it was time to broaden our reach. We’ve specifically brought in experienced individuals to work within our new market sectors to make sure we continue to produce the highest level of service possible. The expansion in our expertise will now see us cover executive job positions in market sectors such as Medical Devices, Chemicals, Animal Health, Water, Flavours, Fragrances & Ingredients, and Audit. Aside from general business keeping us busy, we’ve also taken on some wider projects and charity work. Creating partnerships and giving back to the community were things our Directors outlined as important to our business model and values when JBAndrews was first founded. After the success of last year we are now in the position to start looking at projects and community work we can get involved in.

We looked at opportunities around Leeds and reached out to a number of organisations within numerous sectors. The organisation that stood out the most for us was Leeds Rhinos Community Foundation who we felt shared our values. Not only do they have quite possibly the best reach throughout the whole community of Leeds, they also had some projects we could get on board with right away.

The first of which was the Leeds 10K charity run. Our office split into two groups enabling us to support a charity as well as the Rhinos Foundation- mental health charity MIND. We wanted to support MIND because their mission is something a lot of people in our team can relate with both directly and indirectly, we’ve also worked with them in the past on other events so we wanted to support them again! The office made a fantastic effort, collectively raising over £1,500 for the respective organisations.

Rhinos Foundation made us aware of a local Rugby League club in Leeds called Seacroft Sharks who are situated in one of the largest council estates in Europe. They needed their changing rooms refurbishing in order to start a junior rugby program as they weren’t in a usable condition. We jumped at this opportunity feeling it was the best chance to give back to an area of Leeds that was really struggling. So with the help of Leeds Rhinos Community Foundation we spent a day painting and cleaning all 4 of their changing rooms. We also wanted to give a further donation to The Seacroft Sharks, which is why JBAndrews will be the main kit sponsors for their team in the 2019/20 season! Looking forward to 2020 we’ve been working on a second project with Leeds Rhinos Foundation which will see us deliver personal development skills sessions to their academy players. The importance of being able to write a CV or being confident in a job interview is huge. These are skills not many children coming out of school actually have, especially junior athletes who aren’t thinking about ever needing the skills for a normal job. We’re excited to get going with the academy and if these sessions prove to be a success we will look at opening up a similar opportunity to the local community of Leeds.
